CHEMICAL PEELS

DSC04184.jpg

Chemical peels are generally considered to be the foundation of any results-driven clinical skincare treatment plan. They fight aging, acne, and brown spots for all ages and skin types, and even can be treated on dark skin.

Chemical peels are the most versatile and customizable treatment to help remove cellular buildup and regenerate all skin types. Chemical peels of any strength offer measurable improvement in reducing wrinkles, fine lines, pore size, and oil production while clearing blemishes and improving the skin’s texture, tone and hydration. Peels may be especially beneficial in the treatment of hyperpigmentation, rosacea, acne, sun damage and photoaging.  Your skin takes on a more vibrant appearance with even a single peel!

ABOUT SKIN HAUS CO. PEELS
Chemical peels are offered in a variety of strengths, and during each appointment we will consult with you to decide the proper peel for you on that day. We consider many factors to determine the best peel for you on the day of your appointment – your current skin condition (dry, oily, sun-exposed, active acne) and your desired downtime. Even if your skin is prime for a deep peel, you may have lifestyle considerations that will factor in (upcoming vacation/travel, big event,
going to be in the sun the following week, etc.) and we may elect together to do a light or mid- depth peel instead or prep your skin for a peel on a later date.

This treatment includes cleansing, chemical peel, topical serums, and sunscreen. This is not a “facial” but a clinical treatment only. A light chemical peel can be combined with other services for a more dramatic result or added to any facial treatment.

SUPERFICIAL CHEMICAL PEELS
Light chemical peels are the least aggressive, removing only the outer layer of the skin with no real visible peeling. Repeated treatments on a regular basis (once per month in a perfect world for maintenance and up to once a week to correct damage) will cause mild exfoliation of the skin with cumulative effects. This is best described as a mild, yet refining peel. Although not recommended, you could put makeup on and go out to dinner after this peel if you had to. No one would know you had done anything.

The 20% Lactic Lightening Peel contains lactic acid, a milk-based ingredient that is great for hydrating and exfoliating the skin in a gentle manner. The peel also includes two superb lighteners. You can use this product either as a booster for enzymes or on its own as a great lightening peel.

The 30% Glycolic Peel is an excellent cell renewal peel and is a great classic on its own. It is also an excellent booster to any enzyme. The glycolic acid dissolves the desmosomes that hold skin together to allow for an efficient exfoliation.

ADVANCED CHEMICAL PEEL
Mid-Depth Peels target the intra-epidermal layer, skin exfoliation starts within two to three days of treatment. Specially formulated to treat maturing skin, this peel is also appropriate for many other skin types, conditions and sensitivities. It will help improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, while promoting an even skin tone and clear complexion.

Key ingredients:
Lactic Acid (20%) – is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) naturally found in milk and sugars. It is part of the
skin’s natural moisturizing factor (NMF) and moisturizes the skin.

Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) (10%) – is most commonly used as a superficial and medium-depth peeling agent to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Kojic Acid – helps promote an even skin tone. Azelaic Acid – helps promote a clear complexion and even skin tone.
L-Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) – is an antioxidant and MMPi that is the only bio-available form of vitamin C for the skin. It minimizes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while promoting an even skin tone.
