MICRONEEDLING

Microneedling is also called Collagen Induction Therapy or CIT for short. Microneedling is minimally-invasive with little down-time (the skin may appear red for a few days post-procedure) and with limited side effects, making it a preferred alternative to more invasive procedures like laser resurfacing. On a short-term basis, the skin will appear more plump due to inflammation and superficial swelling. Long-term, the skin will continue to show improvements over a 6-12 month period, with data showing an increase of up to 400% in collagen and elastin deposition at 6 months, after 4 microneedling sessions.

WHAT DOES MICRONEEDLING DO?

Microneedling is a fast, safe, and cost-effective alternative to laser resurfacing for overall skin rejuvenation. Collagen Induction Therapy is perfect for the treatment of scarring, wrinkles, acne scarring, stretch marks, hyperpigmentation, and pore reduction for large, visible pores. Microneedling effectively treats hard-to-reach areas like around the eyes and nose. It is gentle enough that it can be used for all skin types and colors, and less invasive than lasers.

What can microneedling treat?

  • Fine lines and wrinkles

  • Acne scarring

  • Pore clarity

  • Texture and tone

  • Pigmentation

  • Stretch marks

  • Hair loss

  • Improve the penetration of topical products into the skin

WHAT TYPE OF NEEDLES ARE USED?

We use disposable needles to ensure safety and no cross-contamination.

CAN I GET OTHER TREATMENTS WITH MY MICRONEEDLING PROCEDURE?

Yes! Microneedling can be customized with other treatment modalities like Dermaplaning, LED, and Topical Light Infusion. A customized formula of vitamins, antioxidants and growth factors will be infused into the dermis to enhance the lightening, brightening, and tightening effects.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

For best results it is recommended to have a series of 3-6 treatments, ideally spaced four weeks apart. For people with deep wrinkles, advanced photo aging, stretch marks or acne scars it is recommended to receive 6-8 sessions.

WHAT DO MICRONEEDLING TREATMENTS INCLUDE?

Each CIT Treatment includes numbing with topical lidocaine and infared lights and the micro needling procedure is done with 70% pure medical grade hyaluronic and peptide serum.  We love to combine Microneedling with our AnteAGE Microneedling Solution that features growth factors and cytokines, derived from laboratory culture of human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells. The Microneedling Solution accelerates the skins wound-healing response, providing more stimulation of growth factors with a faster healing response, reduced downtime and better results! Another option available to upgrade treatment is to add a Lightwave Topical Light Infusion immediately following your treatment.  We have several options to fit your budget and desired outcome!

WHAT AREAS OF THE BODY CAN BE TREATED WITH MICRONEEDLING?

Microneedling can be used to treat your face, neck, chest, and other areas of the body.

DOES MICRONEEDLING HURT?

The treatment is relatively painless but numbing cream is provided and recommended.  The complementary infrared light session also aids in the numbing process. To ensure maximum results please refrain from alcohol the night before the procedure and limit caffeine intake the day of the procedure.  Proper post care products are available for purchase to aid in healing, comfort, and more advanced anti-aging.

CONTRAINDICATIONS AND PRECAUTIONS INCLUDE:

  • Active acne, rosacea, psoriasis, eczema or herpes infection

  • Sunburns, or recent invasive facial treatments/procedures

  • Keloid or raised scars, warts or moles in a treatment area

  • HIV/AIDS, Diabetes, Scleroderma, blood clotting problems

  • Recent facial fillers (past months)

WHAT PRECAUTIONS SHOULD BE TAKEN PRIOR TO A CIT TREATMENT:

  • It is best to avoid CIT if you are having an active acne or herpes breakout

  • Avoid the use of Retin-A type products the evening prior to treatment

  • Stop use of Aspirin / Ibuprofen to avoid bleeding/bruising.  It is also helpful to refrain from using fish oil suppliaments.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER MY TREATMENT?

Immediately following CIT, the treatment area may be slightly swollen and feel warm and tight. It will look as though you have a moderate to severe sunburn. This intensity will subside after a couple of hours and “most” people will recover within the same day or within 24 hours. Avoid the sun, exercise and makeup until the following day. Post-treatment instructions will be provided.

WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?

People notice an immediate “glow” to their skin. Visible changes to the skin develop over the course of several days and weeks. Results continue to improve up to six months after treatment as collagen production continues.
